American Idol??

The fifth American Idol series is underway - the search for an American singer with the voice and looks to match the talent. The reality series has tremendous success in the past and this year is no exception. Millions tune in to watch every episode and to root for their favourites and vote online. However, I have never been happy with the past winner and I am pretty sure that I am not gonna like the new one they select this season as well. First of all I do not really like the kinda music that is usually sung on the show. African-American women shouting at the top of their lungs and strutting attitude is not my cup of tea at all. And that seems to be the standard in this series; every town that they show holds an audition brings up more and more of these hopeless 'singers'. Then they also bring out the jokers, idiots who think that they seem cool on tv if they make a fool of themselves and in the process if they hurl an insult or two at Simon Cowell (the British music critic who is one of the judges on the show and who has made a name for himself by sounding like a very harsh critc who is hard to please). To those assholes I have only one message - get a life!

I can't stand the past winners like Fantasia & Kelly Clarkson (both of whom are annoying) and can just about get last year's winner, Carrie Underwood. But did she really deserve to win when Bo Bice (picture above left) was around. I am sure that many people will agree that Bo Bice was the best singer/performer and all-round down to earth dude of the show and that he was the actual winner. Why they chose Carrie is beyond me? I mean, Bo really looks the part of a rock star - the Alabama native was born to rock on stage.
